Meet John
I studied at the School of Hard Knocks from 2012-2019.
During my 7-year stint as a gym owner in the NYC area I was robbed and black-mailed by contractors, defrauded and fleeced by business partners, sued by neighbors, and jerked-around by landlords and bureaucrats.
Despite the struggles, I managed to bootstrap 5 gyms and eventually sold in 2019.
There’s truth in Frank Sinatra’s line about NYC, “if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”
Those experiences taught me how to be scrappy and survive in a cutthroat environment.
I used them to help Chris Cooper grow Two-Brain Business into the largest gym mentorship company in the world.
A year into that journey, I co-founded Kilo, a software company that makes running a gym easier. It has been on Inc.’s list of the fastest-growing private companies in America for the last two years.
Outside of work, I am trying to be a good husband and father, though I am finding it tough to balance everything. If you have a solution HMU =).
